2008 Chicago Auto Show
First Look for Charity
Feb 7: 6:30-10:30 pm McCormick Place
Added excitement surrounds the 2008 Chicago
Auto Show, the show's 100th edition. It is the first auto show in the world to
reach that milestone, so the buzz should be palpable.
Your chance to be among the first at the centennial celebration
comes at First Look for Charity, the auto show's black-tie benevolent event. It
is among Chicago's biggest single-day charity events, regularly raising more
than $2.5 million for area nonprofits.
First Look for Charity gives attendees an elegant, inaugural
look at the annual Chicago Auto Show; a method to help many deserving area
charities; and an opportunity to win a new vehicle. This year, make that three
vehicles.
Yes, three lucky benefactors will win a 2008 Toyota, Scion or
Hyundai vehicle, but there will be many winners that evening. Eighteen
distinguished Chicagoland charities will receive all the proceeds from the
event.
Now 17 years old, First Look for Charity appears prominently on
the calendars of both socialites and car buffs. The black-tie affairs enables
participants to behold the nation's largest auto show in grandeur.
Enjoy champagne, wine and soft drinks while strolling a show
floor that boasts more than 1,000 new vehicles--dozens on display for the first
time anywhere.
The evening's hors d'oeuvres will emit an international flavor,
under a theme of the World's Columbian Exposition--also called the 1893 Chicago
World's Fair--the last and greatest of the 19th century world's fairs. Savor
delicacies from around the globe: France, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Morocco and
more! And new this year, a selection of the city's 4-Star Hotels and world-class
caterers will showcase their dessert and pastry specialties.
